Sidari Jet Ski Rental: A Fifteen-Minute Riding Zone, Not a Coast Tour

The Yamaha rental at Sidari lasts 15 minutes and operates inside a designated riding area. It is not permission to tour independently to Cape Drastis or enter the Canal d’Amour formations. The coastline may be visible from the water, but the briefing boundary controls where the machine can go.

Learn the kill switch before the throttle

Check in with Sidari Watersports and listen to the control explanation. The driver needs to understand starting, stopping, steering under power, the safety lanyard, safe separation and the signals used by shore staff. A jet ski does not steer normally when the throttle is released completely, which is why an instinctive last-second reaction can be wrong.

Two seats create one combined limit

The live product allows a private booking and currently gives a combined passenger limit of 150 kilograms. Confirm who will drive, whether switching is permitted and how the second rider should hold position. Sudden passenger movement changes balance. Nobody should change places on open water unless staff have explicitly explained a safe method.

Fit the lifejacket before boarding and fasten it as demonstrated; an oversized vest can ride up in a fall. Keep both hands available for control and do not attempt action-camera adjustments while moving. The passenger should look ahead too, helping the driver notice swimmers, buoys and other craft rather than leaning unexpectedly for a photograph.

Pregnant travellers and people with back problems, mobility impairments or recent surgery are excluded. The staff may also stop departure when handling is inadequate, with a skipper alternative or refund described in the current terms. Petrol, GPS tracking and safety gear are included; transport to the meeting point and an accompanying guide are not.

Use the quarter-hour deliberately

Spend the opening minutes establishing control rather than chasing maximum speed. Keep a continuous lookout, follow staff directions and return when signalled. Sea conditions can change the session or prevent operation. Secure eyewear and leave phones ashore unless the operator provides a safe storage method.

If the craft overturns or the rider falls, follow the recovery procedure given at the briefing and wait for staff help when uncertain. Never restart until both riders are accounted for and clear of the intake and stern.
