This five-hour safari is built around a west-coast sunset and an included Greek platter, not a long session of technical off-road driving. The four-wheel-drive vehicle is the transport between viewpoints, Afionas, Arillas and dinner; recent participant feedback describes the rough-road section as enjoyable but brief. That distinction matters if the word “safari” is the reason you are considering it.

Passengers share a seven-seat vehicle; the advertised operating maximum is six guests plus the driver.

Read the route as a timed progression

Pickup is offered across sixteen named resort areas, after which the first drive is approximately fifty minutes. The published plan allocates about twenty minutes to Agios Georgios Pagon, ten minutes in Afionas and another short stop around Arillas. The restaurant receives the largest fixed block—roughly one hour—because the meal and sunset are the central event. Return transport takes about another hour. Exact viewing point and timings can move with the season and the day’s sunset.

Several stops are lookouts rather than long village visits, so the route favours changing panoramas over extended exploration on foot.

Dinner is defined; the road conditions are not

The base package names a traditional Greek platter and one glass of wine. Other drinks and gratuities are separate. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated when supplied in advance. The road mix cannot be guaranteed in the same way: surface conditions, access and weather affect which unpaved sections are usable. Anyone seeking sustained, high-adrenaline off-roading should choose on that basis rather than infer it from photographs of the vehicles.

The sunset is the route’s planned finale, although cloud and visibility remain outside the operator’s control.

The passenger restrictions are unusually specific

The operator excludes children under seven, pregnant travellers, wheelchair users, people with back or mobility problems, recent surgery, high blood pressure, motion sickness or fear of heights. Limits are also stated for passengers above 200 centimetres or 130 kilograms. A minimum of four participants is required for the shared departure. Pickup may be from a nearby accessible point rather than directly outside a hotel where the vehicle cannot approach.
