This twenty-minute lesson does not put a first-time skier immediately on a long rope. Dassia Ski Club uses three stages: body position on land, a rigid training boom beside the boat, then—only after satisfactory progress—the tow line behind it. Reaching the final stage is an outcome, not an entitlement attached to the booking.

The boom lets the instructor observe posture close to the boat before introducing a flexible rope.

Stage one: rehearse the compact start

The land briefing introduces the crouched starting position, handle grip and movement from bent knees to an upright stance. Understanding the sequence ashore preserves water time. It also gives the instructor an opportunity to correct a straight-legged pull or arms held too close to the body.

Stage two: use the boom for immediate feedback

Alongside the boat, the solid bar removes much of the changing rope geometry. The learner can concentrate on letting the boat provide the force instead of trying to stand by pulling. Falls and restarts remain part of the session; twenty minutes is a compact introduction, not a guarantee of independent skiing.

Close instruction at the boat supports repeated setup before each attempt.

Stage three depends on control

If balance and starts are consistent, the skier moves behind the boat and may begin crossing the wake. The lesson is private and taught in English. Swimwear is the only named item to bring; arrive sober, because alcohol and drugs are prohibited.

Two skis provide a wider base for the first line-behind-boat attempts.

The minimum age is six. Pregnant travellers, wheelchair users, and people with back problems, limited mobility or recent surgery are excluded. Meet in front of Elea Beach Hotel at Dassia Ski Club. Plan access with Corfu’s transport guide, and compare lower-skill activities through the beach guide.
