“Booked via On the Beach for a week in June for a Superior Room with Lake or Ancient Port View and Balcony or Terrace. Was initially allocated a Basic Room but after 1st night when brought up at reception was promptly given a better room. I feel the description is somewhat glossy....what they describe as a lake view is actually the airport runway!! I feel it should definitely be mentioned that the hotel is very very close to the airport so you constantly hear the sound of planes. I agree with many others reviews that the hotel is a max of 4* not 5 for sure. Although nice and clean it needs renovation as quite dated. The indoor pool was very smelly and not inviting at all as well as the spa. You enter it via the outdoor bar so not the usual relaxing smells and atmosphere at all. On a positive note staff is nice and rooms were cleaned everyday. Food was also good, a good variety clearly labelled.”
