About this place

Relaxed Island Living at Stars Hotel, Ag. Georgios

There’s a certain rhythm to Ag. Georgios, on Corfu’s northwestern coast—slow mornings, cicada-song afternoons, and evenings when the sky glows over pine-fringed hills. At the center of this gentle pace, Stars Hotel offers a warmly traditional Greek style for those looking to immerse themselves in the island’s unhurried charm.

A Genuine Greek-Style Retreat

Stars Hotel isn’t about glossy minimalism—it invites you to experience what feels genuinely Corfiot. The buildings are lighter shades, dotted with traditional stonework, tucked among olive trees and the scent of wild herbs. You’ll often wake to birdsong, the salt air drifting through your window, and golden sunlight softening the quiet gardens below.

Strolling Distances to Sand and Sea

From this accommodation in Ag. Georgios, you’re minutes from the broad sweep of Agios Georgios Pagon beach. The sand is fine and pale, the water clear—a favorite with families for its gentle entry and with couples who enjoy long, undisturbed walks in the evening. There are well-worn footpaths down from the road, shaded by pines, where you’ll likely hear church bells from the hillside village just beyond.

Connecting with Local Life

Stars Hotel places you close to daily island life. Morning markets in nearby villages bustle with Corfiot produce: glossy eggplants, figs, and honey jars. You’re never far from a taverna where the day’s catch is still warm from the grill, a table shaded by grapevines, or the laughter of local children running past. Life here moves to the sound of crickets and kitchen chatter.

Easy Springboard for Things to Do in Corfu

Ag. Georgios is well positioned for exploring the west coast’s varied delights. You might set off by local bus or rented scooter toward cape trails, mountain chapels, or sleepy inland hamlets. From Stars Hotel, day trips in Corfu are simple—head north to the dramatic cliffs of Cape Drastis, or south to Angelokastro’s stirring views. For families, the soft, shallow waters nearby are some of the island’s most welcoming.

Local Dining and Seaside Cafés

Restaurants nearby offer everything from classic Corfiot dishes—pastitsada, sofrito—to fresh salads dressed in lemon and olive oil. Ask the staff for their favorites, or wander down to the beachfront for an ouzo and meze as the air cools in the evening. The rhythms of village life are never far away.

Quiet Mornings and Starry Nights

At night, Ag. Georgios feels wonderfully peaceful. On clear evenings, the sky above the gardens reveals its namesake: constellations arching overhead, fireflies flickering near olive branches. Even the summer heat softens under the whisper of a sea breeze. Guests at hotels in Corfu often remark on the serenity of evenings here, whether you’re sharing a bottle of local white wine or simply enjoying the hush after a sun-filled day.

Staying Practical

Stars Hotel maintains a simple, traditional approach. You’ll find relaxed comfort rather than elaborate modern extras—think sunny balconies, dappled shade, and gardens made for quiet reading. It suits couples seeking a romantic place in Corfu, as well as families looking for laid-back, family-friendly accommodations. Details such as opening hours, availability, prices, or seasonal arrangements can change, so it is worth checking directly before you go.

“We booked a room at this particular accommodation for a few days in August. In the telephone communication we had with the owner of the accommodation and after a relevant research we did about this particular place, we were informed about the price and the services that were included as it was written on the accommodation page and I will dwell in particular on the provision of breakfast. No deposit was given because it was not requested but there would have been no issue in this regard. Because the accommodation is considered pet friendly, we had our dog with us. The owner, because we asked him and he asked for information about the pet's accommodation, decided to put us in a larger room so that we would all be more comfortable, although the room as a space was indeed comfortable for all of us but quite old and renovated for "the eyes of the world". The breakfast which was theoretically included in the price, however, we were informed the next day and not the same day we arrived at the place that it would not be held due to some personal issues of the staff which I completely agree with but there was absolutely no information FROM THE START and no transparency on the subject. And he himself even suggested that we go to eat at a nearby bakery without any hesitation. However, he told us that at the end and on the day of payment we would discuss this problem. However, arriving on that day the price remained the same as the initial agreement and the excuses on his part were that I did not ask you for a deposit as if this was a benefit, I put you in a larger room, we did not ask for it but we appreciated it and that the breakfast provision is charged extra according to his words of course because on his site it is not mentioned as an extra but is included in the costing of each day. The problem is the mockery and exploitation on the part of the hotelier and not so much the amount of money. His behavior is very unprofessional and insulting, but perhaps criticism is worth less than being honest about what you provide and how you price it because humanity is nowhere to be found anymore. Just eat as much as we can. I would not recommend this particular accommodation”

“Our stay couldn't have been nicer. It felt like home away from home and that is the highest praise I can give. We mixed something up in our original booking and Emily couldn't have been more helpful in fixing the issue. Every night we've been eating home cooked food, with salad items from the garden. Its really lovely. And has a fantastic pool also! This hotel is unbelievable value for money, and so welcoming that we will be trying to come back every year! Paradise as Emily said on our first day. For us, this was simply paradise.”
