About this place

Katoi Bistrot Wine Bar: The Heart of Kassiopi’s Food and Wine Scene

On the charming harbourside of Kassiopi in northern Corfu, there’s a warmth that comes not only from the Ionian sun but also from places built around conversation, comfort, and good taste. Katoi Bistrot Wine Bar is one of those places. You’ll find it tucked just moments away from the water’s edge, where the quiet laps of boats set a gentle soundtrack to lazy summer afternoons and glowing evenings.

A Taste of Corfu with a Modern Twist

The Kassiopi region is well known for its picture-perfect harbour and a long history of welcoming guests from all over the world. At Katoi Bistrot Wine Bar, the local spirit isn’t just in the view – it’s in every glass and on every plate. Think of the freshness of the sea, the herbaceous scent of olive groves in the surrounding countryside, and an ambience that blends old-world Greek hospitality with easy, contemporary style.

The Atmosphere: Salt Air & Soft Light

Step through Katoi’s archway and you’re greeted with the gentle chatter of holidaymakers, the clink of wine glasses, and the golden, shifting light that comes with evenings on the Ionian. Whether you’re passing through the narrow stone lanes of Kassiopi after a swim or dressing up for a romantic meal by the water, there’s a table here that feels just right.

Wine Lovers’ Rendezvous

Katoi Bistrot Wine Bar is well respected for its wine selection, with a variety drawn from Greek vineyards and thoughtfully chosen international bottles. Staff are happy to make suggestions, whether you’re new to Corfu’s crisp whites or looking to try a bold red as the sun slips behind the headland. It’s a fine spot for those who see wine as a journey – as much about place and story as flavour.

Sharing Plates & Local Flavour

Katoi’s menu pays homage to the produce and seasons of Corfu, Greece. Expect platters of local cheeses paired with fig jam, olives harvested from groves like those blanketing the nearby hillsides, and Mediterranean small plates perfect for sharing. The flavours feel rooted and fresh, with the kitchen drawing inspiration from homegrown ingredients and classic island recipes reimagined with a modern touch.

Perfect for Small Groups and Romantics

There’s an intimacy at Katoi that suits cozy gatherings and evening catch-ups, as well as quiet moments for couples savoring the harbour’s reflections. Soft music mingles with the distant ring of church bells and the gentle breezes rolling inland from the sea. It’s a setting as welcoming for relaxed afternoons as for candlelit evenings during the summer season.

Local Tips for Your Visit

  • Pair your wine with a stroll along the historic Kassiopi harbour, just steps away from the terrace.
  • Plan ahead in high season, as the best outdoor tables are popular as the sun sets.
  • Kassiopi offers plenty of day trips in Corfu, so Katoi makes a memorable lunch or evening stop after exploring nearby beaches or the medieval Kassiopi Castle.

Making the Most of Kassiopi

If you’re staying nearby or at the Melina Bay Boutique Hotel, you’re within a short walk to the Bistrot and well placed for evenings of good company and Corfiot flavours. The spirit of hospitality runs strong in this corner of the island, where every meal comes with a sense of place and time spent well.

“We decided to come in for quick drink and appetizer but ended up being there for almost 1.5h (waiting 45min for chips and tzatziki). Tzatziki contained more yoghurt than cucumber. The view from terrace is beautiful tho.”

“We had a quick lunch at Katoi. There’s a terrace if you don’t want to sit in the square - just ask and they let you go up. We did have a slight issue with one drink being added and one meal being missed off. But it was an innocent mistake and was rectified easily, so don’t want to reflect it in the rating - it happens everywhere! It’s modern, and less taverna-like, but great for a quick bite!”

“Don't hesitate to stop by this welcoming bistro, a peaceful setting overlooking the harbor, delicious sharing plates, and friendly service! The mixed platter for two was very generous. The wraps were very good.”

“The BEST place I've been in Corfu - the food, service, staff, scene - simply everything was excellent! I've never seen that kind of staff who is all the time smiling, super friendly and ready to help. I'm amazed - these people love their jobs! We had the chance to meet Maria - such a lovely lady, the sunniest waitress I've seen! The baklava with ice cream and the waffle were delicious, will definitely come back ❤️”
