About this place

Easy Evenings and Honest Flavours at Petrino Restaurant, Kassiopi

The winding lanes of Kassiopi, on the sunlit northeast coast of Corfu, Greece, curve past harbour cafés, old stone churches, and olive-draped hillsides. Tucked among them, a short stroll from the gentle hum of village life and the shimmer of the Ionian, Petrino Restaurant invites you in with the relaxed promise of a true Corfiot meal.

An Unpretentious Welcome

There’s a particular calm that settles over Kassiopi as evening arrives – children’s laughter floats from cobbled squares, and the salt tang grows in the cooling air. Petrino Restaurant fits right into this gentle rhythm, offering a comfortable terrace shaded by trailing vines and the soft glow of lantern light after dusk. The atmosphere is friendly and quietly lively, perfect for couples, families, and anyone seeking a leisurely meal after a day spent at nearby beaches or exploring Corfu’s attractions.

The Menu: Authentic Corfiot and Greek Dishes

Local tradition guides the kitchen: think platters of grilled, just-caught fish scented with lemon and olive oil, slow-cooked meats in aromatic sauces, and the classic salads bursting with ripe vegetables. You’ll often find specialties like sofrito or pastitsada among the offerings, showcasing the island’s blend of Greek and Venetian influences.

  • Fresh seafood – especially perfect on a warm, sea-breezy evening.
  • Homemade pies and classic mezes for sharing over a carafe of local wine.
  • Simpler grilled dishes – ideal if you have children or prefer the basics done well.

Desserts often feature Greek yogurt, honey, or nutty pastries – light and satisfying after a generous meal.

Local Touches and Seasonal Produce

Much of what you find on your table at Petrino Restaurant is sourced from nearby gardens or the morning’s catch from the local harbour. In the spring and early summer, expect tomatoes at their sweetest; in autumn, aubergines and peppers glow with flavour. Menus adjust to what’s in season, a detail that brings regulars and first-time visitors back alike.

Location and Setting

Petrino Restaurant enjoys a spot that’s both central in Kassiopi and just far enough from the main waterfront to feel peaceful. Stone walls and open-air seating give a village taverna atmosphere, while fragrant herbs and potted flowers catch the evening air. It’s an easy walk from the castle or Kassiopi’s pebbled coves, making it a handy stop after a bit of sightseeing or a dip in the sea.

Warm Service, Family-Friendly Pace

The welcome here is straightforward and attentive. Children are made to feel comfortable, and larger groups can linger without feeling rushed – a plus for those holidaying with family or friends.

“Rude staff , high nose behavior…”

“Wow the service here is laughably bad. Been in Kassiopi (fabulous place) for 8 days and this stands apart from all other 7 restaurants have ate at so far for how terrible the service was. Nearly 40 minutes waiting before they even took food order (asked 4 times) and restaurant wasn't that busy, just over half full (downstairs part). The girls who work here, all very polite and nice, can only take drinks orders - and 3 individually asked us for them as clearly no management or coordination, but only the 1 guy working is allowed to take food orders apparently which is just idiotic. Then another 30 minutes before they actually delivered the bill after asking twice - family had left by then as took so long and kids needed to get to bed. What's a shame is the food is actually really good (cocktails also), restaurant itself fine too, albeit nothing special (upstairs may he better however). But I haven't seen such incompetence in service for a long time in any country or budget, and this place is not cheap relatively. If you have hungry children I'd strenuously avoid, if you have hours to spare waiting for food worth it as is above average.”

“This place is 5* for hospitality, food, wine and the view! Ate here two evenings of our holiday and loved it both times. The staff are lovely and made us feel so welcome. Pictures show vegan souvlaki and beef petrino, recommend moussaka, aubergine Sicilian and fried white bait too. Thank you!💖”

“The meal was good. Cocktails a bit expensive at around 15 euro for a spritz. Not quite on the harbour so some cars parked in front. Have to book a table via Facebook - but they did get back to me the same day. Overall, decent.”

“We arrived at 11:00 PM, asking for an off-menu dish, and they accommodated us. In a week, I toured every town in Corfu and ate at about ten restaurants, and this is the only one where I left satisfied. Delicious mussels, king prawns, very large sardines, and truly exquisite swordfish. All this served with truly extraordinary potatoes and vegetables, and a Greek salad with feta, cucumber, tomato, and onion. The price was a bit high (€92 with 1/2 cup of wine, water, a fruit juice, espresso, and Greek spirits), but it was definitely worth it. Kudos to the truly friendly staff. I've never eaten so well outside of Italy. Thanks again.”
