Albatros Hotel

“Extremely poorly run hotel with bad food, hectic atmosphere due to insufficient staff, a miserable ambiance, and rip-offs at reception. Rooms: Smell from the drain, furniture and shower okay. Food: Cheap food, mainly potatoes and pasta, mostly inedible. Rotten fruit is also not uncommon. Dining area: There are only a few tables outside for all-inclusive/half-board guests, inconveniently located near exits; the remaining tables are reserved for self-paying guests. However, there are plenty of tables inside, where there is no air conditioning or fans, and you can eat in sweltering heat (over 30 degrees Celsius). All-inclusive offer: Ridiculous and of poor quality. No self-service drinks. Even for a glass of water, you have to wait at the bar because self-paying guests are served first – even if they arrive later. Staff: Stressed and creating a hectic atmosphere. Reception: Rip-offs at reception when ordering a taxi. The receptionist ordered a taxi for us for 70 euros, explaining that it was so expensive because of four suitcases. She also insisted that we pay her in cash. The taxi driver later confirmed that he had only received 55 euros from her. He also explained that there is an official price list on Corfu and that it is illegal for taxi drivers to charge higher prices, as there are regular police checks. I have been to Corfu 14 times and know many hotels there. Albatros is the first hotel on Corfu that has truly disappointed me. However, I know that there are significantly better hotels.”

“It was an amazing experience. Everything was arranged exactly as agreed, and they provided us with everything we needed. Very helpful and pleasant staff. It was a real pleasure, and it turned out to be a dream holiday. Would definitely recommend it, and we’ll definitely be going back to Albatros!”

“We're currently on vacation here and are completely satisfied. Everyone is friendly and helpful, from the reception staff to the waiters and cleaning staff. If there are any problems, someone is always available to help immediately. The food is fantastic, with a wide selection and freshly prepared dishes. The all-inclusive drinks selection is perfectly adequate for us, and if I fancy a cocktail, etc., I'm happy to pay for it. We will definitely come back here again.”

“Unfortunately, I can hardly say anything good about this hotel… The service, especially at this hotel, was abysmal. We've stayed in 3- and 4-star hotels many times before, but we've never experienced anything like this. It started right at check-in: We were immediately told that we couldn't have the room we booked with a partial sea view because it wasn't available. Instead, we were given a room without a balcony that had clearly seen better days. Only after a discussion did we get a room with a balcony – but still without a partial sea view. The tour operator was blamed. It wasn't until three days later, after our travel agency got involved, that we finally got the room we had booked. After that, a staff member at reception just gave us dirty looks and largely ignored us – as if the attitude was: the troublesome tourist simply wanted what he had booked and paid for. There's also little positive to say about the food and the service staff. Anyone expecting Greek cuisine or even the occasional fresh fish will likely be disappointed. However, if you love fries and pasta, this is the place for you – because this "5-star cuisine" was available practically every day. As for the staff, I can only say: they couldn't have been more overwhelmed. Perhaps the reception staff should help out with the service in the future. The only three positive aspects of this hotel were the friendly staff at the beach bar, the good location, and the clean beach right next to the hotel. Unfortunately, I still can't understand the many positive reviews for this hotel. I hope that my review helps future guests with their decision and saves them from a similar disappointment.”
